Brief

On a continent where water is becoming

an increasingly scarce resource, Novaqua*

seeks to develop and bring to market, innovative solutions to sustainably protect, preserve

and secure water, to secure life.

 

*The name Novaqua is derived from Nova

meaning New, Innovation and Aqua meaning

water.

 

Come up with a name, tagline and a complete

visual language.

 

INSIGHT

Driven by the understanding that ‘water is life’,

and that it is currently being wasted at alarming rates, Novaqua aims to find global solutions

for local water challenges. 

Big  Idea

To create a brand identity and visual language

that will position Novaqua as an innovative solution

to  ensuring water security and sustainability in Africa. The identity was centered around

the articulation of the relationship between

the need to conserve, protect and regenerate

this precious resource and how that enables

us to secure life in the future.

SOLUTION 

We created an iconic and unique identity combining the concepts of flowing water, sustainability, security and innovation. The ownable and easily recognisable icon, forming the letter N, 

is used as a supergraphic and creates the base

of our visual language. Using the symbolic flow

of water, we developed an infinity loop ’N’

in the Novaqua word mark, coupled with a rounded font. 

 

The logotype is inspired by flowing water

and has a scientific and innovative look.

The primary colour palette of bright blue

and white hints at water, innovation, science

and technology. The photographic style
depicts water challenges, technology and solutions
